This afternoon Poland’s president Lech Kaczynski is starting a four-day visit to Israel.
The President is to take part in the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the modern state of Israel.
The visit is likely to become an opportunity for President Kaczynski to have an unofficial conversation with President George W. Bush.
Poland’s president is to meet with Israeli President Shimon Peres and PM Ehud Olmert as well as with the minister of education Yuli Tamir in Jerusalem on Tuesday.
The talks are to concern Polish-Israeli relations and international issues, including the situation in the Middle East.
Late in the afternoon the Polish president, accompanied by his wife Maria, is to take part in a conference, whose guests will be the leaders of the countries with Jewish Diaspora.
On Wednesday the President is to go to Tel Aviv where he will visit the Museum of the Jewish Diaspora and meet with the representatives of the intellectuals of the local university. Back in Jerusalem, Kaczynski is to take part in a dinner and other celebrations held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the US-Israeli relations.
On Thursday Poland’s president is to participate in a celebratory dinner held by the US president.
Last month President of Israel Shimon Peres was visiting Poland and participated in the celebrations of the 65th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Rising and followed a visit by prime Minister Donald Tusk to Israel.
