Sen. Phil Gramm has recently suggested that this is the case, "Americans are whining too much." Here is my response: The apparatchiks that have been governing America always catered to the wealthy elite! When the wealthy class said, "we are fed up with having to pay high salaries," the governing elite engineered the globalization. Globalization allowed transferring the means of production to China along with the American know-how! Even spying drones' technology and missile stabilization technology was transferred - technologies that may be used against us at some future date! There is a biblical lesson here: When Merodek Baladan, the king of Babylon, visited the king of Judah, Ezekiach, presumably "to congratulate him about his miraculous recovery from an illness," Ezekiach foolishly showed him all sources of his economic and military power - the know-how. What happened next? The prophet Isaiah immediately received a word from God, that "in punishment, Israel will be taken in captivity into Babylon" (2 Kings 20, 12. 17)! There is a remarkable similarity in what is happening between the U.S. and China - the transfer of wealth and the increased transfer of independence! We are loosing jobs vital for our Social Security ... to China! Why shouldn't we be whining? Our Senators and Representatives seem completely out of touch! The poor are suffering because they have no perks, no pension funds, and no salaries! It is normal that they see the world differently! America is booming for a few, but for the many, she dies!

Some Americans are getting richer in this economy. See Cheney stock: Cheney’s Halliburton Stock Rose Over 3000 Percent Last Year www.projectcensored.org/top-stories/articles/24-cheneys-halliburton-stock-rose-over-3000-percent-last-year/Vice President Dick Cheney’s stock options in Halliburton rose from $241,498 in 2004 to over $8 million in 2005, an increase of more than 3,000 percent, as Halliburton continues to rake in billions of dollars from no-bid/no-audit government contracts. An analysis released by Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) reveals that as Halliburton’s fortunes rise, so do the Vice President’s. Halliburton has already taken more than $10 billion from the Bush-Cheney administration for work in Iraq. They were also awarded many of the unaccountable post-Katrina government contracts, as off-shore subsidiaries of Halliburton quietly worked around U.S. sanctions to conduct very questionable business with Iran (See Story #2). “It is unseemly,” notes Lautenberg, “for the Vice President to continue to benefit from this company at the same time his administration funnels billions of dollars to it.”

He is in a protected position as a vice president {I believe this would not be construed as interference in indigenous politics?}. I would believe that since of 1995, Halliburton has been operating in Iran as a prime contractor on many projects, some including but not limited to nuclear production equipment. I tend to think it was of this previous year of 2007, Halliburton formed a new foreign subsidiary of: Halliburton Products and Services Ltd {HPSL} with office location Dubai United Arab Emirates. This would allow them under American law of restrictions, to legally operate as business in all Mid-Eastern nations listed under U.S.A Terror Sanctions Law. Under American of above, no American company may conduct business with any nation of such label. But, American Law, has no authority with a foreign subsidiary of an American company from doing such business. It is under that legal limitation, that although Syria for so many years, has been labeled under US Terror Sanctions Law, never has been limited from lack of US businesses conducting business within the country. As of such, products of Coke-Cola/Levi jeans/cosmetics/Ford/GM {if produced off shore from the USA} and what ever, have always been available. Charles

Never mind the political rhetoric re Cheney, how the past 8 years of the Bush/Cheney exploitation of America has continued is criminal. But Americans today are hardly inclined to throw out the crooks without due process, in this case a presidential election. A new adminstration will have enormous challenges to bring America back from the damage of the Bush/Cheney years. And Phil Gramm can go to h--l American's are not whiners. OOH I am so angry and tired of these Republican crooks and their lackeys. Sorry for the rant, but I had to vent.
