McCain started series of aggressive attacks against Obama after the trip. Here is a commentary about one of the ads which shows Obama playing a basketball with the troops and complaining that... Obama could not visit wounded veterans but could go to gym. Andrea Michel (wife of Greenspan, a famous economist) states that Obama never takes journalists while meetings with the troops, so this was not going to be the photo-opt please, see youtube if you can: www.crooksandliars.com/2008/07/30/andrea-mitchell-debunks-mccains-attack-ads-on-obamas-european-trip/

More political...BS. If it looks like a skunk, walks like a skunk, smells like a skunk............it is a Skunk. But you can call it whatever you wish. Obama knew exactly what he was doing and not to call it politcs is insulting my integrity. He doesn't need to alert the press...they follow him like radar. But for your sake we can call it a "European vacation".

Chris,
I wish I could believe in McCain but I worry that he became too much of the politician and he may start another war to support Israel in its aim tp eliminate Iran. He promises to balance the budget but.... he is not going to increase any taxes or finish any wars....
His ads are not fair at all and he is really getting old.

Well walking and talking in Europe does not make you competent in foreign affairs. He is a junior senator, no experience and will be driven by Soros. Unfortunate but true. You need someone with experience to be the Commander and Chief.

Personally I don't see how either were chosen as a candidate or where they even dug them up from. But we are stuck with these 2 sorry bunch and we'll just have to see how it plays out.

You need someone with experience to be the Commander and Chief. Obama is supported by 90% of people abroad (outside the US). Experience identified with corruption and lobbism and old age and.... this current administration is not really anything positive. The US is down almost in every aspect during the last 8 years. McCain is unfortunately identifying himself too much with the current administration. I do not buy it! How much experience and leadership did pres. Bush showed during these 8 years?

Chris, I think you are being a little unfair. I did quit a bit of reading and research on this today. What I found was that Obama did visit the troops in Afghanistan and and Iraq (with press as allowed under Pentagon rules as this was a trip as a Senator not as a candidate) He went to Europe as a potential Presidential candidate and as such knew that he could not visit the troops with the press (as Andrea Mitchell in her piece acknowledges and also supported by Chuck Hagel (R). The press knew they were NOT allowed to go along on the trip. The problem came up as Obama was going to visits with his military adviser a retired General and past director of strategy and plans for EUCOM (so the troops they were visiting were in a way "his"). The Pentagon objected to the General's visit as being potential political. So Obama was faced with a difficult decision - a dammed if you do dammed if you don't situation - of his own making! If he went alone - the press would report he went and he would be attacked at making the trip for political ends and if he didn't go - be criticized for not respecting the troops. Yes, he created the problem by inviting the General along - but would you have thought the Pentagon would have a problem with a past EUCOM director visiting? So I can see how the decision was made. I do not think the McCain Campaign is playing fair with this one. I think they are pandering to the lowest denominator here and it does not reflect well on them. I think they would be talking about issues and there are plenty of them out there and showing the differences between McCain and Obama's positions and talking about the ramifications for me the voter. Hello Jim, you watch too much O'Reilly: www.newshounds.us/2008/07/30/bill_oreilly_i_dont_want_a_radical_like_george_soros_running_this_country.phpBill O'Reilly: "I don't want a radical like George Soros running this country." George Soros IS NOT any of the campaign advisers of Obama. Even if G. Soros would be there, I would not mind since he did a lot of good in Eastern Europe. Soros donated lots of his money to EE people, students stipends etc. Compare Soros and Cheney - what good did Cheney do for Poland and Eastern Europe? So, please, do not try to scare people by reminding the name of G. Soros. He is seen as a great man by Poles because he did lots of good there.

I peg your pardon Jaga. Unless you are spying on my you have not idea what I watch. And to ASSUME is not a good thing for anyone especially a scientist. I do not assume you just look at liberal views, however, I could me mistaken. And i would not want Soros or Obama in my foxhole if that means anything to you.

Jim,
I am sorry if I was wrong. The truth is that not too many people try to link so strong senator Obama and George Soros. It is just such a loose association. I saw this association in one of the political comments by O'Reilly.

Anybody saw this video? It also shows what type of issues does McCain talk about. It is all wishful thinking rather than solving real problems.
