I just received this e-mail. As far as I remember we had two different types of pickles in Poland. One type "ogorki kiszone" were bought in big jars. The juice from these pickles could also be drunk and it was delicious. Another type were pickles in vinegar (ogorki w occie).
I think the so called "Polish pickles" are more similar to the vinegar pickles rather than real "ogorki kiszone"

Growing up as a child I remember enjoying a certain Brand of Polish pickles that I and my wife (which also remembers enjoying) can no longer find at local grocers, can you assist ? The label was white with black words and was something in Polish or Russian that I never could pronouce, but they were great pickles (no, they were really great). We used to get them all the time.
