LONDON As Islamic protests grew against the publication in Europe of cartoons lampooning the Prophet Muhammad, a small Arab movement active in Belgium, the Netherlands and Denmark responded with a drawing on its Web site of Hitler in bed with Anne Frank. "Write this one in your diary, Anne," Hitler was shown as saying.
The intent of the cartoon, the Arab European League said, was "to use our right to artistic expression" just as the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten did when it published a group of cartoons showing Muhammad last September. "Europe has its sacred cows, even if they're not religious sacred cows," said Dyab Abou Jahjah, the founder of the organization, which claims rights for immigrants aggressively but without violence. Such contrasts have produced a worrisome sense that the conflict over the cartoons has pushed both sides across an unexpected threshold, where they view each other with miscomprehension and suspicion.

;D Oops! Sorry for the misunderstanding! It was supposed to be "A whole bunch of angry Virginians" NOT " A whole bunch of hungry virgins". It is about time that those intolerent Moslems tried to understand us; we have tried to understand them and Islam but that does not seem to matter. I think we tend to see the Moslems in the romantized era of Medevil and dark ages times when Islam was in full flower. Those were the days when their art, archetecture, poetry, science and math were in full bloom. It is true that the Western countries had many faults but at least we learned the errors of our ways and changed accordingly. I hope I have no bad side but, if I do than at least I hope that I have learned how to control it. I can imagine the public outcry if Hate and Discontent was part of the courses in Grade school and High school. There y'all I've vented.

Thank you for your description of venting. Actually I did not take it as such. I took it as interfacing with strong subject matter of a social disruption of considerable common concern.
Actually it was refreshing to hear an honest opinion and backed with ample reasoning that was sound. Thank you!
Piwo entered an excellent url projected by an Islamic national, it was of a personal observation that was very revealing. It is a shame, there are no Islamic people on this forum to better portray to us folk of the known Christian world, what and how they (Islamic) people feel and think. To open a window into their lives to share for mutual understanding. To at least unlock the doors of mistrust for the light of understanding to enter. But, this is the real world we live in, and as such, here we are..

Now the European Arabs insult jewish feelings, while the jewish have absolutely nothing to do with the Danish cartoons. Leave the jews out of it. And today is see that the hatred is not only against Denmark, but also against America and Israel, they burnt the flags of the three countries during the protest. It shows how little they know about the conflict. Amercica was very critical of the cartoons, but that did not stop these heated up masses. Who are really behind the protests, where comes the agitprop from? There are organisatiosn and groups who exploit the anger, and I think countries (Syria and Iran) too. Moderate Muslims are trying to stop it or criticize the damage to property and to the image of islam. Critical sounds came from a Hamas leader, Indonesians, Malayans, Turks and moderate Muslim leaders.
