Jaga Thank you for re-introduction of this very gifted man of: Sergey Prokudin Gorsky Although I do not remember of this man whilst in attendance of the Hamburg Agfa School of Photography. I do recognize his basics of colour in image capture with silver image process. For as a common person test. Is only the use of over the lens filters of {Red or Blue or Green Colour filter}f with light balance film or digital cameras. www.photographyknowhow.com/photography-lecture-hall/white-balance/For it is the knowledge of the mechanical basics of light and reflection as received to the human eye as replicated in the mechanical process with use of camera lens. For of those basic colours of {Red/Blue/Green} we reconforme to as many variations as possible to the desired colours of requirement. Photography, is what it is, the reproduction of an image. But to this image, is what ever the mind may conceive for what ever purpose. In-as-much as of the artist may wish from the intrinsic mind set of purpose. In-as-such will go the photographer in reproduction of said emage.... Or am I simply stupid with this conception? Karl

Karl,
Agfa are famous for one thing - ORANGE. I have a photograph taken on Agfa film, which shows my elder son (as a baby) with his mother, grandmother and great grandmother. He was blonde and so was his mother; the other two ladies both had white hair. But the picture shows them all with bright orange hair!
