We've had 80 tornado's in two days in the state of Missouri. At first we thought maybe God was just upset with trailer parks here, but apparently he must be trying to teach us all a lesson . Closest one to my house was 11 miles away. In tornado terms, that's like 1000 miles away. Temps have gone from highs in the 40's, to highs in the 80's, now to low of 30 tonight. We are having a weather roller coaster in the mid west!

Oh my living lands! 80 tornados! It is so difficult to even emagine that many tornados!
You know piwo, that place does not agree with your health! We have three volcanos in our reagion with one some what active, and I would suggest that we are safer here!
Tell you what, you guys need to escape that dangerious area for here....We have our volcano, a mulititude of crazed express way drivers, an over abundance of rain, crazies trying to kill each off in a near by city by shooting, stabbing and what ever.. But, we do not have 80 tornados!!

I thought the one spotted here is Ca was unusual but your in a danger zone. It's been raining here a lot, unusual for this time of year in CA.

The national weather service is reviewing the data, and now the count is up to 120 tornado's in two days (128 in the region)! Go large, or go home! Clean in the area is continuing with volunteers from all over the state, and elsewhere. We're OK here. It's a part of living in the Midwest. Those rain clouds coming from Jim in CA, hot gulf air racing northward and cold Canadian wind streaming downward. Where they all meet is a meteorological battle ground, and tornado's are born. They tend to meet up in the middle of the country, which of course is where I live! When my wife was 7, her parents and 7 siblings were all in a house the was demolished by a large twister. Mom was giving two infants a bath, and everyone else was in a single bedroom looking for the flashlight that my wife was playing with (she wasn't supposed to have it). It was usually in the "mud room", and her dad was really mad screaming at her. They all went into the bedroom to look when the room lifted off the house, the part of the house with the "mud room" and garage disappeared and everyone said it sounded like an honest to goodness train came through. Same chugging, huffing and puffing noises. Then Eerily calm. It bounced around their court, cherry picking houses like the grim reaper. Next door neighbors house didn't have a scratch and still had electricity. There house was demolished, two neighbors died. Just so darn random. Every part of the country has something that can get you: hurricane, tornado, landslides, floods, 120F heat, -80F cold, snow,.... We excel in tornado's and floods here. PS: Her 8th sibling was born the next morning, with hair standing strait up. No, they didn't name her windy..heehee. ;D

Wow, Piwo, that is some story! Today I had a discussion with a friend about "destiny" vs. "individualism." Sounds to me like the flashlight in the "wrong" place was more like destiny than anything else! (not the side of the argument I chose). so ...... does the 8th sibling still wear spiked hair? and ... God Bless Mom

Piwo,
keep safe. I used to live in tormado valley. My co-worker in Fort Worth lost his apartment when tornado went through FW one time. My apartment was in the valley - so I was safe although... not really. It is just that I was lucky.
This time of the year seems to be difficult for everybody, at least we do not worry that we will have a tornado in IF but it is cold and humid and.... I have a terrible alergy today. I just came back from Wallmart with bunch og allergy medicine, I look as like I was crying the whole day!

My daughter lives in Rhome Texas and the tornados seem to going round them with out hitting their area.
I guess it is just a turkey shoot depending upon the exact area a person lives in.

It looks like we just get the Canadian cold air mass from the BC area. The rain off the Pacific and the accidents on the express ways.
And you guys get every thing! Sure sorry about that!
Well, duck and cover and keep your hat on tight! We sure do not want to lose you guys to mother nature!

And hurricane season is only days away! Last year I wasn't too upset about hurricanes - they had only been a theory not a possibility for me - but after last year? I am worried. Be careful Piwo!

Oddly enough, when the sirens begin to sound, Wallmarts and Kmarts fill up almost instantly: those without basements and those who live in trailer parks flock to them. We're not sure if it's because of the safety factor, or if it's to be in a place they can sue someone if they get scratched or hurt!
You are not alone with the allergies: I am in the same boat as you! All this rain has prompted mold and now some grass spores to blossom: plus we had the windows open one night because the warm "gulf air" was winning the battle for a few days.
Things are pretty calm now in the state of misery, er, I mean Missouri... ;D
