The Sejm has rejected a Law and Justice (PiS) proposition and consequently, beer and vodka labels will remain without any changes. According to the PiS amendment alcohol labels, like those on packs of cigarettes, should contain information about the negative effects of alcohol. The warning is directed especially to pregnant women, nursing mothers, teenagers, and drivers. However, the government has its own idea how to discourage Poles from getting drunk. The Ministry of Health has been already working on a new draft, which is supposed to teach people how to bring up their children in sobriety. According the draft, beer and vodka advertisements will be allowed to be emitted on radio, TV, and theatres only between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. (currently alcohol advertisements can be broadcast from 8 p.m.). Moreover, there will be more information about the harmful effects of alcohol in shops and pubs. Additionally, drinking alcohol at football stadia and other sport facilities will be prohibited. In Russia for a few years already, beer advertisements are not allowed to show any living creatures. So, on TV, the beer glasses mysteriously move untouched by human hands... Also, the warning information for alcohol and cigarette advertising (though cigarette ads aren't allowed on TV) seems to be getting larger each year: "Ìèíçäðàâñîöðàçâèòèÿ Ðîññèè ïðåäóïðåæäàåò: Êóðåíèå âðåäèò Âàøåìó çäîðîâüþ" ("The Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia warns: Smoking harms your health")
