Don't ever remember any reference to this. Night witches Russia's three all-female air regiments flew more than 30,000 missions along the Eastern Front in WWII. I listened to the BBC World Service's interviews with the Night Witches. Unfortunately, as with everything the BBC does, it tried to include some negative portrayals about the USSR's role in World War II, as well.
