We haven't heard from our tough Polish residents, but I have sure heard from Germany! This is a tough winter, with snow in places for an extended time where they have not seen it for decades. There have even been reports of skating on the canals of Holland . . . Here is a satellite photo of Central & Eastern Europe: How are you all doing over there?

PS. No, I can also not orient myself in the photo, I am taking Der Spiegel's word for it!

Yes, there was skating on Dutch canals, and we have had lot's of snow until today!
It is quite a beautiful white winter over here!
In the South of Poland the winter is grim and I heard many people were without electricity, because the electrical wires above ground were broken by heavy snowfall and concentration of snow and ice on these wires that snapped!
I saw Polish citizens speaking on the Dutch news, saying, how can we in the 21th century be without electricitiy for weeks?
