Somebody send me this enquiry. It looks like paczki:
My local Polish Bakery makes the most delicious loaf (its regular bread sized, but shaped into a croissant). The dough is chewy and sweet; the crust is dark reddish brown and shiny (I guess, from egg?); inside is ample prune preserve filling.
The problem is, I have asked repeatedly for their recipe and they won't divulge it! I have a feeling, that this is a common, traditional Polish sweetbread recipe. If you know what I mean, what is it called in Polish, and can you please provide the exact recipe to make/bake it. Thanks so much. My 93 year old mother loves it!

Stefania, a person who send the first e-mail responded. This is not pounchki. I have not clue what it is really:
Thanks for your quick reply. No, it is definitely not Pounchki. I am Polish-American through and through, so know this (by the way, "Happy Paczki Day")! It is much larger (like an entire loaf of bread, but crescent-shaped (much like a BIG Croissant would look). Nobody in my family recognizes it by name (but we sure do enjoy eating it). All it is referred to at this bakery is "Prune Croissant Loaf". IF I ever get there and have a camera, I'll send it in to you. But for now, maybe one of your readers will identify it. Thanks again.
