Jaga How so nice of you to think of us And how so good to here from you.... Brazil was once the play ground of our industries, now, I am not so sure. I think perhaps both of you will find your peace in Brazil, for it is both beneficial to the senses and the pocket book. Portuguese is different then Castilian Spanish, but still understandable. As time allows it will be good to hear from you, take good care, enjoy and let the air be good to you.... Karl

Guys, thanks so much. People in Brazil are wonderful, they are very friendly and social. They do not like working too hard.... so the mixture of Brazilian and American culture would be good - better organization but also some fun and outdoor life. food is wonderful and we have home-made food here all the time.
I was painting windows frames today, guys were taking wall apart. We had an accident....one man slipped on the brick.
It cooled down since yesterday, it is very nice although mosquitoes are here still....

we are on the farmers market today. Ít reminds me Lithuania and Klajpeda market from the last year. Yesterday we painted 2 rooms. It is still hot here although it is December according to their calendar. Moon looks strange, the crescent has a different position probably due to the Southern hemisphere

That must look so interesting - to see the nighttime sky from the southern hemisphere! I'd like to see that for myself!

Today - Sunday - we went to the Indian village. The indigenous Indians live here. We went with a local Methodist pastor and we brought food and cloths with us. We were greeted by their spiritual and political leaders (I did not know that they have two leaders)..... the kids were very sweet. They just look Brazilian to me, not that much Indian.... I mean they are very different than Native Americans of the US for instance. They have two different languages, their own dialect and Portuquese. I spoke to the little girl, 8 years old and she replied perfectly in Portuquese in spite of the fact that they learn Portuquese at school only after they finish the 3rd grade. If you can look at the map - we are located in Nova Almeida - about 25-30 km North from Victoria, a capital of Espiritus Santo state. The Indians are located to the North from us - 20 km away. There are 60 families in 3 different camps. We also saw some gipsies.

We also went to the Church service at night at Victoria - a newly constructed big Methodist church, since I am a part of the Methodist group. It was interesting to see Brazilian middle class. Women in Brazil dress often very sexy, even for the Church, but this is a norm here.
Today is a working day, but we are leaving on Thursday to Rio for 4 days of fun and then back to the US on 21 of June.

Methodist? I thought you're Catholic! Eric, do Catholics, Methodists and Orthodox people believe in the same or different god? ;D
