Leave us alone and let us do what we want. We are adult people. Yes you are right, Pawian. But at the same time you're unfair to Michael. I know I am right hahahaha. I am not unfair to Michael, I treat him with a lot of respect which someone else in my shoes would consider quite unnecessary. hahahaha But a woman in love is blind to reason....

Pawian, If you want only to write to Livia, why don't you send it direct to her, via E-mail, not post for all of us to read. It wouldn`t be so funny, would it? hahahahaha Mike, it is a senseless exchange. Don`t try to understand me unless you are a psychologist, I lie on your coach and confess everything sincerely. Otherwise it is impossible. Join our innocent games and don`t be such a wet blanket.

Excuse me...I don't mean to interrupt...but this beetroot juice. Is this made from beets? Can one make it at home? Is it like carrot juice-the shredding/juicing of a vegetable without the fibrous material added?

Yes, it is a clear liquid of red color, made from beetroot juice and water, with addition of garlic, sugar and a little salt, left to ferment for a few days. It is sweet and sour, poeple in Krakow cook red borsch soup on it. If I knew the recipe/formula, I would use it for my own benefit and also give it away to you. Unluckily, I don`t. Pity.

I love it so much that I remember I was sick once after eating the kielbasa fried with onion Yes, when eaten in too large quantities at a time, with plenty of fried onion, such a dish may become too cumbersome for your stomache. That is why you need to eat it regularly.

Pawian, What type of bread is that? It looks delicious! It is very brown, wholemeal, rye bread with seeds which I normally eat. I have white bread only for special food, like caviar.

On a typical Polish table for the wigilia (Christmas Eve) meal, you will probably find most of the following dishes. 1.barszcz z uszkami (soup from beets and a type of Polish ravioli) 2.pierogi z kapustą i grzybami (dumplings with mushrooms and cabbage) or łazanki (a Polish type of pasta cut in square pieces) 3.zupa grzybowa z makaronem (mushroom soup with pasta) 4.kapusta z grzybami (cabbage with mushrooms) or kapusta z grochem (cabbage with peas) 5.karp smażony (fried carp) 6.karp w galarecie (carp in jelly) 7.sałatka jarzynowa (vegetable salad with mayonaise) 8.sałatka śledziowa (herring salad) 9.śledź w oliwie (herring in oil) or śledź w śmietanie z cebulą (herring in cream with onion) or śledź w occie (herring in vinegar). 10.kompot z suszonych śliwek lub owoców (compote from smoked plums or different dried fruits, such as apples or pears) 11.kutia – of Lithuanian origin, it's boiled wheat mixed with ground poppy seeds, nuts, raisins and honey) 12.poppy cake, cheese cake, ginger cake You will also probably find: 13.buraczki ćwikła (sugarbeets with horse-radish) 14.chrzan (horse-radish) 15.grzybki w occie (pickled mushrooms) or ogórki konserwowe (cucumber pickles) Jim A very lavish supper, indeed. Ours is much simpler... After sharing a wafer the leftovers are devoured by children. We have the same dishes every year. Simple, unsophisticated, but very tasty. Dessert was simple too. Ginger cookies or sth.... and cheese cake
