Not quite. It is żurek with potatoes and dried mushrooms, the ones we collected during summer holidays.

Uszka, but not bacon. We are traditional and don`t use meat products on Christmas Eve. It is the imitation of bacon/lard - fried onion. ;D ;D ;D

thank you very very much for a wonderful explanation. The only thing - this zurek does not look like zurek which I am used to. Referring to carp, we do not fry carp, we broil it with parsnip. I wish I had a picture

Fast food Polish style

Apart from McDonald`s which is more or less the same everywhere ( it has some Polish variations, but later about it) and a few other chains like KFC, you can eat fast food at many events.

No baked beans. Point to the exact pic to let me know what you mean.
The sauerkraut is decorated with golonka - pork shank.
