John,
NH has no income or sales taxes? How do they run the state? They've got to have some kind of tax to pay for things
In PA we have income tax and sales tax on everything that isn't clothing or food.
In NY they have sales tax on everything.

Mary Most tax revenue comes from real estate taxes. We also have taxes on your automobile when you register, rooms and meals tax and a business profits tax.

Mary Most tax revenue comes from real estate taxes. We also have taxes on your automobile when you register, rooms and meals tax and a business profits tax. When you start realizing how much tax you pay on what-we are being taxed to death. The one bill that we recieve each month that has soo many taxes and surcharges is the telephone bill. It seems like every service on that bill is taxed. There's state, federal and local city taxes. And I wonder if the phone company actually pays all the taxing entities their tax that is due? Texas doesn't require individuals to file yearly state taxes-altho we pay taxes on almost everything-except if you are "Farm" exempt or have an exemption-for some non-profit organizations. But the IRS is cracking down on some of the non-profit organizations-because they have some huge growing funds and Uncle Sam wants his share. One weekend before the school year starts, Texas gives the parents a "tax-free" weekend to buy certain items-such as clothing and not have to pay taxes on those items. Of course there is a list of items are still taxed. I have never really found this tax free weekend very profitable for me...only for the stores-KA CHING!!!

To all,
It was G.W. Bush who cut tax, and now the other party wants to increase the tax again.

kaima,
A big tax cut will help balance the budget, and just ask how. Balancing the budget is big politics.

kaima, A big tax cut will help balance the budget, and just ask how. Balancing the budget is big politics. Michael Dabrowski okay...suppose they cut the taxes...where and what programs are they going to shut down...will the Veterans have to get less then their fair share again?....they are already working with less money, their facilities need major upgrades, they are understaffed now... Where is the school systems going to find their money for educational expenses? If you say the state will pay them....but it is the homeowners and business owners that pay a majority of those taxes. What about your community's services such as the fire department-do they not run on city taxes(along with private donations and some state funding) Where do you start cutting taxes to make it fair for everyone, and not just for the higher tax bracket earners?

To all,
We were talking of the Polish healthcare system, not anything here in the U.S.A.
