Hi Charles and George, Wow, it seems like I've stirred up a firestorm. I did a little research on attitudes of native Poles and the Government of Poland on gays. Check this out www.globalgayz.com/poland. Can't send a link because my cpu is behaving badly so you'll have to type the address into your browser. Amazing stories! And the most amazing part is that Poles who have lived through centuries of despotic rule and attempts to destroy them as a nation would try to do the same to homosexuals for just trying to live openly. Charles, in your post addressed to me, what are you trying to say? While I appreciate your tactfulness, I am also confused by it. If you'd like to converse directly with me, I'll send you my e mail address. Best wishes to you both, Joan Hallo Joan think little of the content I had authored to you. I think perhaps you will do very well on your own. I sense a kindness in your self and a sensitivity that is commendable. I am not of Polish or American, but that of German. My life here is at the convenience and pleasure of your government. Charles

Our pastor of our church in Albany Ny had a sermon last Sunday when he anounced that he was encourging gays to attend our church. He said he doesn;t want them excluded from the church. He is going to have a few special masses for gays to start if off. I was surprised that few parishoners objected. I highly doubt if our priest is gay. However i have this question for our family of posters. Is it OK for priests to be homosexual? Would it matter for you to have a parish priest who was gay?

God created human beings, all of them, and He found His creation to be "good." That's a given. Therefore, to say that God created homosexuality is a stretch of human imagination. Rather, homosexuality is an evolutionary moral evil due to the Original Sin. This evil too often attaches itself to weak and immature men and women. Satan has this tendency to use the weak. Priests have the duty to minister to the weak and to the strong. What they minister is morality and truth that is Divine! What they cannot do, is to be the ministers of the evil of immorality themselves! This simply precludes any chance of a priest being a practicing homosexual!

Troublegoodangel..( interesting name ) Can't say everything God created was all good and then blame homosexuality on evolution. Afterall, didnt God engineer evolution? Cant' have it both ways. And by the way, why couldn't a gay preist minister to a gay man or woman. If homosexuality is a sin ( and i disagree ) then wouldn't it be proper for a gay priest to counsel them. Afterall, i'm sure priests commit sins like the rest of us.

With all due respect, George, but you are speaking in generalities on topics of the greatest profundity. I agree that "priests are sinners," but I repeat, priests are not ministers of sin, much less of their specific sin! Priests are the Ministers of God's Truth, period! The Church does not want blind guides leading the blind when it comes to homosexuality or to any other transgression against God's will, called "sin." As far as the issue of evolution, the Bible is clear: God, in His Divine Wisdom, had created everything in an orderly evolution type of way, first the universe and the planet earth which was water, then the luminescence (this mysterious element made posible the existence of plants before the sun was created!), then the firmament, then the ground and plants, then the sun and moon and stars, then the fish and birds, then the animals, and finally the human beings (Gn 1:27). That's the Divine Orderly Evolution! But then a human "challenge" happened which we call the original sin. This challenge to God's orderly Will has forever skewed the once orderly evolution, till Parousia. And this is the limping evolution gone aweary that we have now. All I am here saying in the little time that we have, is that there is much more to the profound issues that we are here discussing!

troubled,
I repeat GET HELP. I respectfully remind you that the Bible's new testament, which was written by men, no womens point of view here, is merely a historical record of JC's time on earth. It is the author's interpretation of the events. All history is just that. Ask yourself, can you remember in graphic detail what you did and said on this day in 1990. If others have a different recollection, who's recollection is gospel? No pun intended. All I'm saying is, that there are different points of view and interpretations of the written words in this literature. Perhaps it is better to live an ethical life then to concentrate on what is sinful. Get a life. Joan
