Pieter and Karl,
the longer Russian would take to go to Kiev the more probable is that Russian economy would collapse before they even get there.

Jaga,
We should’nd underestimate the power, strength and strong moral of the Ukrainian Army, the Ukrainian National Guard and Ukrainian civilian militia’s fighting the Russians. Next to Ukrainian arms these people also receive American, British, French, Turkish, German, Dutch and Polish arms.
The Polish Air Force has/had 30 Russian (Soviet build) excellent MiG-29 twin-engine jet fighter aircrafts in service. The MiG-29 was the Soviet counterpart of the American F16 fighter jet. Poland 🇵🇱 will probably deliver these MiG-29 jets to the Ukrainian Airforce. Poland is negotiating with the USA about replacing these 30 MiG-29 with American F16 and F35 jets.
Cheers, Pieter

Jaga,
The collapsing Russian economy, the low morale within the Russian army, large losses of the Russian army and the isolation of Putin might lead to a failure of this war.
The Dutch media magnate Derk Sauer (born 31 October 1952) owner of one of the few independent Russian press/media broadcasts, ‘the Moscow Times’ newspaper, said after talking with a lot of his Russian friends and people with close connections to the Kremlin that in a week Russia 🇷🇺 has transformed from a authoritarian guided illiberal democracy into a Totalitarian state. Russians believe Russia Today is moving towards a Totalitarian state with total control of Putin’s security forces, the FSB (follow up of the KGB) and the GRU (Military intelligence) and the National Guard of the Russian Federation.
The National Guard of the Russian Federation (Russian: Федеральная служба войск национальной гвардии Российской Федерации, romanized: Federal'naya sluzhba voysk natsional'noy gvardii Rossiyskoy Federatsii, lit. 'Federal Service of the Troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation') or Rosgvardiya (Russian: Росгвардия) is the internal military force of the Russian Federation, comprising an independent agency that reports directly to the Russian president under his powers as Supreme Commander-in-Chief and Chairman of the Security Council.
Derk Sauer stated that a free, objective and fair press in Russia 🇷🇺 is impossible today. Like in Nazi Germany under the propaganda ministry of Joseph Goebbels with ideological state newspapers as the Völkische Beobachter, der Stürmer and the Nazi cinema propaganda news in Russia the news today is state propaganda like the Pravda communist newspaper and the Soviet State tv. Russians are totally indoctrinated with a Russisan, Soviet and nearly Nazibol (National Bolshevic) narative.
Russian state media spread fake news like an ‘Ukrainian genocide on the Russian minority in Ukraine and oppression of the Ukrainian people’ by a ‘Neo Nazi clique’ and ‘Fascist military junta’ in Kyiv. In reality the Ukrainian Banderovci (Ultra Nationalist Stepan Bandera followers), the far-right Ukrainian nationalist neo-nazi political party and paramilitary movement Right Sector (Ukrainian: Пра́вий се́ктор, Pravyi sektor), and the ultranationalist political party All-Ukrainian Union "Freedom" (Ukrainian: Всеукраїнське об'єднання «Свобода», romanized: Vseukrainske obiednannia "Svoboda") are marginal in Ukraine. It is true that the extreme right Azov batalion is part of the Ukrainian Defence, but on the Russian and Donbas Peoples Republic side Extreme right and Neo-Nazi Russian forces and Russian Ultra Nationalists are active as well.
Cheers, Pieter

Pieter, I completely agree with your assessment. There is no freedom of the press in Russia and the war is chaotic. I am still worried that Russia would like to take another part of Ukraine close to these two separatist regions and then shout the victory achieved on the back of so many people.

Pieter and Karl, the longer Russian would take to go to Kiev the more probable is that Russian economy would collapse before they even get there. Jaga How well do I agree with you with the above. There though is another black hole to dodge in this mess. If Mr. Putin becomes wary of the loses his military is experiencing, it is an endangerment that he may resort to measures we do not wish for, That is use of tactical field nuclear weapons in as well as biological agents in specified areas. If he {Putin} should field any of those weapons, the drift from those target areas could and would spread out from the combat zone over our respective heads. We then would have first, the fall out to contend with expected results, then we have exactly what we do not wish for, and that is another war on our hands. It is of the nature of things, if above occurs, most likely Mr. Putin as the Russian he is, will remember very well what the armed forces our past Government conducted upon his land in the last war and we very well could be one of the first to be targeted in an armed conflict. But then, it is not good to openly speculate of what has not occurred but perhaps to be mindful of any possibilities. Karl

Pieter Yes to the above, there has been in short past considerable condemnation of German lack of getting in step to the common parade of weapons transfer to The Ukrainian Government. There is a specific reason of this lack of action until this occasion, for it is against the Constitution in past to provide weapons to a nation under stress of war. This though as has been curtailed not to the aberration of the constitutional word, but as an emergency action to keep this Ukrainian/Russian conflict contained for as not to spread across borders. This action as described, is not in the word, to over ride or conflict with the constitutional requirement, but to compliment it as a humanly action from Germany to another Democratic State as a manner of preservation of their Sovreign democracy.
